Specialists in musculoskeletal physiotherapy care and sports injury rehabilitation. Providing you with a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan, to provide you with the best outcome for your condition.

Many people live with persistent and recurrent aches and pains throughout the world - appropriate management can change this.

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession taking a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, and includes the patient’s lifestyle. At its core is patient involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment. Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Mark Parkhouse

Mark qualified from the University of Brighton in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) degree in physiotherapy. Initially working within the NHS, he covered all traditional posts (orthopaedics, elderly care, surgical, medical, critical/intensive care and neurology) before specialising and taking up a senior position in musculoskeletal care.

After moving on and working for the military, assessing and rehabilitating military personnel and their dependents, Mark moved into private medicine but continues to remain involved with the NHS, working part-time, as an Advanced Practitioner.

Having been exposed to a wide spectrum of conditions, from the more straight-forward, regular conditions that plague the population every day to the more complex, chronic, life-changing conditions that require more long-term rehabilitation, Mark feels equally blessed in assisting in the treatment of all.

Mark uses a patient-focused approach to understand each individuals’ condition and needs. After setting an agreed treatment plan, he uses a mix of education, manual and exercise therapy to enable clients to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Testimonials

Our clients are vast. From professional sports people and performers to ‘couch potatoes’. From serious, life changes injuries to niggles that need advice. It’s all the same to us. It’s your goals that we’re interested in, no matter how big or small. We’re here to meet your expectations.

Here’s what some of our clients have had to say:

For the past 2 years I’ve been suffering from pain within my lumbar spine and bilateral lower limbs. At times I’ve been unable to walk or to stand on my feet or sit for longer periods, which clearly had a big effect on my life.

Visiting Mark has really been a life changer for me. From my first visit Mark has been really profession in his approach, something I had not experienced with other therapists.

I’ve been really impressed with his thorough assessment and him taking the time to understand my background and medical history. Throughout all our sessions Mark tracked my progress, listening to my feedback and adjusted the exercises where needed. After a couple of sessions with Mark I could notice improvement already.

Now I’m at a point where I can go about my daily life without a huge deal of suffering. Without Mark’s help I wouldn’t be where I am now. I’m really grateful for what he’s done for me.

Mark, I just wanted to say thank you for the treatment. I have recently completed the London triathlon, having earlier done Hyde Park triathlon and took 6 minutes off my previous best, finishing 2.32. The big difference was my run. I am running more easily and therefore faster and there is little or no pain in my hip anymore. I have kept up the stretches and exercises (to a point) and I am now looking forward to my last tri of the year and a 10km in October. Seriously considering a half marathon early next year in advance of upgrading to a half ironman later in the year. So with all that said I will say it again, thanks.

Conor

Greeting from Australia. You may remember that you treated my knee on 22 and 26 April, prior to my leaving to do coast to coast across England. I had stumbled coming down a steep slope at Tintagel and hurt my knee which you treated.

The cry-O cuff was a godsend and was well used by a couple of us. I managed to walk every day, although I had to shorten my walk on a couple of days.

Many thanks – I don’t think I could have done it without your help!

Hi Mark, just wanted to say I did it!

On 15th October I ran Amsterdam Marathon. I have put in a fair bit of training, but gave up on a sub 5h race after food poisoning 3 weeks before the race and forecast of hot weather. It was a lovely day and great atmosphere (and very flat) so I plodded along and was really pleased finishing 4.45. Even better: I didn’t have any pain anywhere in my body… just ran out of fuel at the end.

I hardly have any pain in my back now, so I think running is actually good for both my mind and body.

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU! As I couldn’t have done it without your help.

Susi

156 miles in the Sahara done!

This is just a quick email to say thanks.

Mark helped me sort out loads of niggles I had before heading into the desert. It was an epic race and I remained injury free throughout which was a miracle considering how bust up my body is from various motorbike and rugby injuries.

The training advice and practical stretches he gave meant I literally didn’t have a niggle during the race. Quite insane given 6 back to back marathons in 40-45 degrees heat whilst carrying 10kg.

Anyhow – praise often not given when it’s deserved. I just felt it certainly warrants it on this occasion. Thanks again Mark.

R. Harrison
